YXL supports children and young people who face barriers to education, engagement and participation. Every learner's circumstances are different, which is why we focus on personalised educational pathways rather than one-size-fits-all approaches.
We support children and young people experiencing barriers to school attendance, including anxiety-related school avoidance, emotionally based school avoidance and other challenges affecting engagement with education.
We work alongside Virtual Schools, local authorities, carers and other professionals to support educational engagement and progress for children in care.
Our personalised approach enables support to be adapted around individual strengths, communication preferences and learning profiles.
We support learners who are unable to access mainstream education and require a flexible educational pathway designed around their individual circumstances.
ReintegrationFor some learners, the long-term goal may be reintegration into education. We support gradual and carefully planned transitions where appropriate.
Educational engagement can be difficult to maintain whilst placement decisions are being made. We help learners remain connected to learning during these periods.
Supporting progression into further education, training, employment and greater independence.
