Re-engaging through Bespoke Mentoring

A Year 10 student had been previously out of education for six months due to severe classroom overstimulation and anxiety. Through our 1:1 trauma-informed approach, we identified specific sensory triggers and developed a personalised regulation toolkit. By focusing on connection before compliance, we successfully transitioned them back into a modified timetable with 100% attendance in YXL sessions.

From Exclusion to Employment

After experiencing multiple fixed-term exclusions in a mainstream setting, this student joined our Career Readiness programme. By acknowledging their inclusive learning profile and focusing on practical strengths, they built the professional confidence required for the workplace. They have now successfully secured a Level 2 Apprenticeship and continue to engage with YXL for light-touch mentoring.
